DeShawn Wilson

During his distinguished military career, Wilson served multiple tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait as a Special Operations Landing Zone Officer, where he was responsible for coordinating critical air operations, managing tactical logistics, and ensuring mission success under high-pressure environments. His leadership, precision, and dedication to service continue to define his work in civilian life.

As a Development Associate with Three Squared Inc.—a leader in modular and container-based construction—and with HOUM, an innovative digital housing platform, Wilson helps deliver energy-efficient, affordable housing solutions that combine cutting-edge design with meaningful social impact. His work emphasizes sustainable construction, rapid deployment, and high-quality, attainable housing for veterans and working families alike.

Working alongside Evan Faye, a distinguished U.S. Air Force veteran and President of the Veteran Build Foundation (VBF), Wilson champions projects that provide affordable modular housing, workforce reintegration, and wraparound support services for veterans and their dependents. Together, they share a unified mission to empower service members through housing stability, skills training, and economic opportunity.

Renowned for his discipline, innovation, and mission-driven leadership, Wilson continues to leverage his military precision and development expertise to empower veterans, revitalize neighborhoods, and redefine the future of sustainable housing throughout Detroit and beyond.
